Here is an original drawing of a woman by Edgar Yaeger (American, 1904 – 1997). Untitled (female nude figure study), 1983. Conté crayon on paper. Signed to the lower left by the artist. Landscape sketch to the verso. In overall great condition - smudging to pigments; minor abrasions to the edges; slight tears to the lower edge. Measures 11.75" W x 18.0" H.
About the Artist:
Edgar Yaeger is a listed artist known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression-era. Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
