Mixed media painting/drawing on paper by American artist, Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997). Dates 1968. Painting/drawing of a Christmas scene, Partridge in a Pear Tree. Signed to the lower right by artist and dated. On the lower left, "Merry Christmas". Measures 4" W x 5" H. In overall great condition.
About the Artist:
Edgar Yaeger is a listed artist known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression-era. Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
