An attractive antique print – a view looking towards the City from the corner of Shoe Lane on Holborn Hill – as it appeared before the construction of Holborn Viaduct. Engraved by Joseph Swain from an original study by William Henry Prior. Originally produced for the part-work “Old and New London” (London: 1873-1878).
Wood engraving on paper. Later hand colored. Engraved surface approx. 5-5/8” x 8-1/4”. Professionally matted and framed under glass. Frame measures 13" x 15". In overall excellent condition. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
